Thud League Mid Season Report
Well boys, the Thud League is now officially half way over, and we have a very tight battle going. That is between two of the teams, anyway. Dogger, you might as well start working on your golf game, because your chance of winning anything in Nascar this year is over. We are coming off of Jeff Gordon's 75th win, a win in which he also helped teammate Jimmie Johnson hold the points lead by brushing aside runner-up Matt Kenseth in classic Earnhardt fashion. Gordon is now just one win shy of tying Dale Sr. for 4th on the all-time list.
Here are the latest standings:
Hansen - 19,877 Stillwell - 19,142 Dogger - 16,539
Hansen and Stillwell have 8 wins apiece, while Dogger has two. Stillwell only has one mulligan remaining, while Dogger and Hansen each have all three remaining. It appears that Hansen will win his first Thud League title, as his team looks too consistent and strong to have any extremely bad weeks and lose a large number of points in any one week. Kahne, Kenseth, and Burton are all having very good seasons, surpassing all expectations. It will be interesting to see what unfolds in the next 18 weeks.
